How can I use the service/bicycles?
To use our bike rental service, you must install the “Atlantic Bikes” App and make your registration. After registration we will have to validate and verify all your information first! We promise we won’t take more than 24 hours (We take about 4 minutes to approve, usually) It is important that you enter all the data that is requested. Including payment methods, addresses and your identification document. Without this data, you will not be able to activate the service. After validation you will be able to use our bikes! And you will receive an email with your won PIN. The PIN will always be the same to unlock the bikes, remember it. After being registered you can choose a bike. Click on the button where it says “Rent Bikes”. After that, a button will appear where it says “Scan QR Code”. Look for the QR Code you can find on the padlock located on the rear wheel. Zoom in on the Scan window 40 cm away. After this put your personal PIN that was sent to your email. (Attention: it is important memorize or save this PIN because every time you unlock a bike you will have to use it). Click “Confirm”. Will open the padlock and now you can have fun! How to end the session? To end the bike rental session, look on the application map for the green points virtual or physical (These are the stations where you can leave your bikes). If not, you will pay an extra fee. Go to the rear wheel and close the lock manually. Click “Finish” in the application. In case you don’t do this step, it will count like you’re using the bike. If you do not comply, you will pay a extra fee.
I am 17 years old. Can I use the Atlantic Bikes service?
Sorry, but you can’t. In order to use the service, you must be of equal age or over 18 years.

Is it mandatory to wear a helmet for e-bikes?
The bicycles provided by Atlantic Bikes in the city of Ponta Delgada are bicycles electrically assisted (PEDELEC) with a maximum continuous rated power of 0.25kW where the power is progressively reduced and finally stopped when a speed of 25 km/h is reached or when the User stops pedaling.For this reason, it is not necessary to wear a helmet to ride a bicycle electrically assisted.
What are the opening hours?
Our bicycles can be rented 24 hours a day.
Does the e-bike charge while riding?
No.
Are there docks like in other cities?
Yes. Despite not being loading docks, BikeSharing de Ponta Delgada has specific docks, virtual and physical docks.
Do I have to deliver the bike at the same station where I picked it up?
No. You can start your journey at one station and end at a different station.
How do I unlock Atlantic Bikes?

What is a station?
The station is the place composed of an Atlantic Bikes support and a variable number of Docks where you can start/end the trip. In the app you can find some green dots that are the points where you can park your bike.
If I have an accident what should I do?
You should immediately contact Atlantic Bikes, using the situation report which is in the app. As you cannot transport the bike to the nearest station, you must stay with it until the assistance team or technician arrives.
The bike does not move (mechanical or functional failure) what should I do?
You must make a Maintenance Request in the APP.
